The Advisory Board meets monthly to discuss the state of the game and event in general. The Board is made up of a cross-section of Interphaze participants. The Board’s main duty is to bring issues and potential problems to the attention of Interphaze leadership, and recommend solutions to the same. The Board also helps to make sure all player’s concerns are heard and considered.
Prerequisite: To be eligible to serve on the Advisory Board, you must first have attended at least 3 major Interphaze events (Winterphaze, Summerphaze, or Fallphaze).
Term Limited: Advisory Board members serve for a term of 1 year, though they may serve consecutive terms.
Team Logistics is a great group of dedicated individuals who plan the behind the scene details such as; reserving camp grounds, planning and cooking the Phaze banquet (dinner), putting up and taking down canopies for shade/shelter, placing props along the trails, and keeping the players safe and hydrated. And let’s not forget those roaring fires in the central camp area! “TL” spends a lot of planning time both during and outside of the Phaze events getting all the nitty-gritty details down.
The Creative Team is responsible for writing the trail adventures and helping advance the plot. Players can contribute ideas informally by including their characters goals at registration or writing in-character posts on the forums in between formal Phaze events. Ideas for trails can also be submitted directly to the creative team. The formal Creative Team is formed fresh each time, several months in advance of the next Interphaze event to write the next set of adventures for the heroes of Interphaze.
Term Limited: Members of the Creative Team serve for a term of 1 year, though they may serve consecutive terms.
The Prop Team brings the stories to life with costume pieces, monsters, settings, and weapons to outfit NPCs (non-player characters) described by the Creative Team. This Team brainstorms the execution of props together and often has “build” days at one of the members’ houses. Donating materials or special equipment/ skills is always welcome. Volunteers of many skill levels of crafting are invited to help!
The Weighting Team handles all things game mechanics. This team is responsible for weighting and balancing player spell research requests, and also addresses any issues or problems with the rules or game balance of Interphaze. This includes overseeing class balance, tracking down errors or flaws in rules descriptions on the website, and all other things related to making sure the rules are fair, balanced, and easy to understand.
Prerequisite: To join the weighting team, you must first have attended at least 3 major Interphaze events (Winterphaze, Summerphaze, or Fallphaze).
Restriction: Members of the Weighting Team must be at least 18 years of age.
Additional Requirement: Because of the sensitive nature of the rules and game mechanics that power Interphaze, all members of the Weighting Team are required to sign and abide by a Non-Disclosure Agreement.
Judges make trails possible. Judges are often also players, giving up some of their playing or NPC time to perform Judge duties. They run trails, describing the scene and narrating the story and player’s actions in combat so the whole party and/or group of NPCs can be engaged and hear what is going on. With the help of a random number sheet, a judge must be able do some math on the fly to determine what effect the actions of each player has and if they are mitigated by any other effects in play. A judge’s sign-off is required to validate official transactions such as selling magical items, gaining weapons, or copying spells. Judges usually wear a judge’s ribbon to let everyone who they are and when they are ‘on’ duty.
Prerequisite: To join the judge team, you must first have attended at least 3 major Interphaze events (Winterphaze, Summerphaze, or Fallphaze).
Restriction: Judges must be at least 18 years of age.
